2023 Winter Appeal in Support of the MRI a Huge Success!

It Takes a Community of Generous People to Move our Health System Forward.

Although the MRI is now operational, it has not been fully funded. However, the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation is working alongside our amazing community to make this happen.

Overwhelming support paired with a matching gift initiative from the Dave and Ann Trick Family Foundation made the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation’s 2023 Magnifying Care Close to Home MRI Campaign winter appeal a huge success.

An outstanding 687 community members answered the appeal and helped raise $374,500 in just six short weeks. The Dave and Ann Trick Family Foundation matched $100,000 of the monies raised bringing the winter appeal campaign total to an incredible $474,500!

The Dave and Ann Trick Family Foundation is excited to be part of the acquisition of the MRI for our area. We believe that this will improve and accelerate the hospital experience for many people who have illnesses thru quicker diagnosis and treatment. We wish success for the PSDHF in their campaign to raise the funds for this MRI. – Ann Trick

Mr. and Mrs. Trick have a long history of community involvement. They created The Dave and Ann Trick Family Foundation with various charities and causes in mind.

What does this $474,500 mean for our community? It means access to vital diagnostic services to support care close to home. The Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation would like to thank the Dave and Ann Trick Family Foundation for their dedication to the enhancement of health care services at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. We would also like to thank all 687 generous donors who contributed to the success of this winter appeal campaign.” – Margot Hallam, PSFDHF CEO

The Ontario Government does NOT pay for equipment and machines like an MRI. The PSFDH Foundation has committed to a 3-year, $6.1 Million campaign to fund this vital diagnostic equipment. To date $2,378,000 has been raised for the Magnifying Care Close to Home MRI Campaign, leaving $3,722,000 to be raised to hit the three-year campaign goal of $6.1 Million.
